About

Sam Miniard is a writer from South Mississippi with a love of all things weird and fantastical. She earned her M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and holds two B.A. degrees in Film & Media Arts and Creative Writing from Louisiana State University (LSU).

She mainly writes fantasy, science fiction, and horror, so most of her work has a speculative element to it, but enjoys other genres as well. She writes fiction, poetry, and screenplays, but will occasionally delve into plays and comics.

Her love of the fantasical stems from the fact that she watched and read about way too many amazing worlds as a kid, and when they sucked her in, they never spat her back out. Though it’s not like she wanted to leave in the first place.

When she isn’t writing she can be found catching up on shows and movies she is embarrassingly behind on for someone with film and screenwriting degrees, reading books and comics, or cuddling with her three Chihuahuas.

Fun Fact: She shares a birthday with Stephen King and the original publication of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit.”
